SpaceX continues stacking Starship in Boca Chica
SpaceX recently finished building the 25th version of its Starship vehicle and has rolled it to the launch site.
This is the first time that SpaceX has stacked a Starship on top of a Super Heavy booster since May, when the company conducted a 10-kilometer test flight.
The new Starship, known as Ship 25, is the first to be built with a new type of heat shield that is designed to be more durable and reusable. It is also the first Starship to be equipped with the company's new Raptor 2 engines.
SpaceX is planning to conduct a series of tests on Ship 25 in the coming weeks, including a static fire test of the Raptor 2 engines. If these tests are successful, SpaceX could conduct an orbital test flight of Ship 25 as early as next year.
The stacking of Ship 25 on top of the Super Heavy booster is a significant milestone for SpaceX. It brings the company one step closer to its goal of sending humans to Mars.
